DROUGHT AFFECTED FAMILES DENIED CONCESSION FARES

Drought affected families have been missing out on concession fares for travel on V/Line.
Member for Northern Victoria Region, Wendy Lovell raised the issue in State Parliament last week, requesting Minister for Public Transport, Lynne Kosky, to ensure V/Line provided concession fares to those listed on healthcare cards issued to families receiving exceptional circumstances(EC) support.

A $20,000 grant to boost skills, announced today by the Member for Northern Victoria and Parliamentary Secretary for Rural and Regional Development, Kaye Darveniza, will link with a Shepparton technology company's expansion plans and provide opportunities for up to five new jobs.

Police are continuing to investigate a suspicious house fire at Kyabram that claimed a 51yr old man yesterday. CFA units were called to a flat in Oswald St around 1am and found the mans body after the fire was extinguished.
In other police news, police are no closer to finding any leads into the missing Shepparton man, Can Koray, after an image and details were released.

Women in business across the Goulburn Valley are being given the opportunity to participate in a series of specifically tailored seminars designed to increase their understanding of business finance. Business Centre Coordinator Jens Zimmermann said the range of topics to be
covered will give participants a broad understanding of finance. The course will run over three weeks, commencing Wednesday 16 July.

Free, one-on-one confidential sessions are being offered between now and October to help horticulture irrigators access the financial and agronomic information they need to make business decisions in the face of reduced water availability. Fruit Growers Victoria General Manager, John Wilson says the sessions will provide a sounding board for growers, as they consider their options and work out an action plan based on their personal situation.

A new Moving Art Cow designed and painted by clients of GV Centre Disability Services will be joining Greater Shepparton's Moving Art herd.
